Quetta Gladiators have beaten Islamabad United with 7 wickets in the 11th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) T20 on Thursday to top the PSL points table. According to the details, Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators played the 11th match of PSL T20 in the Dubai Cricket Stadium. Islamabad United was led by Misbah-ul-Haq and Quetta Gladiators by Sarfraz Ahmad. Quetta Gladiators won the toss and opted to field first.
Earlier, Gladiators won the toss and opted to put Islamabad United in.
With a brief good spell of 40 runs by opener Watson, Islamabad United were soon in a bind struggling with brilliant pace attack of Gladiators.
Islamabad United were restricted to 117 runs in 19.1 overs.
Apart from Shane Watson, who scored 40 off 28 with help of three 6s and as many boundaries, no other player was able to resist the lethal combination of Grant Elliot, Anwar Ali, Zulfiqar Babar, Muhammad Nawaz and Aizaz Cheema.
Elliot shattered the batting lineup of Islamabad United by taking three wickets while Zulfiqar Babar and Aizaz Cheema grabbed two wickets each. Also, Anwar, Nawaz and Muhammad Nabi took one wicket each.
In their innings, Gladiator surmounted the target at the loss of three wickets, with 23 balls remaining.
The highlight of the innings was superb performance of Sarfraz who hit 51 (not out) runs off 39 balls with the help of six boundaries.
Ahmed Shehzad scored 41 runs of 31 balls with the help of five boundaries and a sixer.
An overall lackluster match ended that helped the Gladiators to be safely perched at the top.
