According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 62% Pakistanis disagree with the statement that having an old model mobile phone is/will be a source of embarrassment.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, ?Please tell us, to what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement: Having an old model mobile phone is/will be a source of embarrassment for me??
In response to this question, 16% respondents said that they agree a lot with the statement, 22% said that they agree somewhat, while 27% respondents disagree somewhat, and 35% respondents disagree a lot with the statement.
According to the urban-rural breakdown, more respondents from the urban areas agree with the statement as compared to those from rural areas and vice versa.
44% respondents from urban areas said that they agree with the statement, as compared to 35% respondents from rural areas. 56% respondents from urban areas said that they disagree with the statement, as compared to 65% respondents from rural areas.
The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1745 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during April 13- April 20, 2015. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ? 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
