The Axact CEO Shoaib Sheikh and eight other suspects involved in the fake degree scam were ordered to be sent to jail with the physical remand extended till 13th June. Earlier, the FIA officials produced the accused suspects in front on Judicial Magistrate South Noor Muhammad Kalmati.
The court ordered authorities to record confessional statements of three witnesses in the ongoing investigation and ordered that nine suspects including Axact CEO Shoaib Shaikh be sent to jail after medical examination.
The counsel representing FIA said that the interrogation has not been completed and due to this, physical remand should be extended. On the contrary, the defense attorney said that interrogations have been concluded and there are no viable reasons for the extension of physical remand.
Mr. Kalmati; the Judicial Magistrate after hearing the arguments made by both parties sent the accused CEO and his eight partners to the judicial remand till 13 June. Furthermore, statement of three witnesses will also be recorded under the section 164 in the next court hearing.
