On the basis of financial and technical issues, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has refused to use the electronic voting machine in the upcoming elections.

In Islamabad, Chairmen Zahid Hamid conducted a meeting of the National Assembly’s (NA’s) district committee in which the experts have personally given their views over the use of electronic machines for voting.

It is advised by the Chairman Zahid to make possible reforms in the existing voting system to make the polling process fair and transparent. In the meeting, various suggestions are also given to the voting rights of the overseas Pakistanis.

Provision of recommendations over constitutional amendment is assured by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the next meeting.
