As many as 6527 kids will be administered polio vaccines during activated polio vaccine campaign scheduled from 18th to 21st May, 2015 in various villages of ten union councils of Larkana district.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner-II, Revenue, Saifullah Abro, presided over a meeting of IPV in this connection in his office here in which DHO Larkana Dr Khalilullah Shaikh, police, Education, Local Government, Social Welfare Departments officials and NGOs participated.
He directed concerned cops to provide proper security to the polio workers during their field duty. Dr. Inayatullah Kandho, Larkana district Incharge, informed the participants that for this purpose three fixed centers will be established and 28 mobile teams have been constituted which will visit the villages in selected union councils of Larkana district and administer vaccines to 4-months to 23-months old babies and 0-5 age group children will be given polio drops adding that each team will have four workers. He urged the parents to ensure that their kids get vaccinated to make the district and entire country polio-free.
