Peshawar lifted the trophy after defeating Mardan in the final of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inter-District Women Table Tennis Championship played here at Tariq Wadood Hall on Friday.

Former World No 2 and Director Sports PSB Coaching Center Peshawar Mohib Ullah was the chief guest on this occasion. Director Female Games Rashida Ghaznavi was also present on this occasion.

Peshawar defeated Mardan by 3-0. Peshawar Kainat defeated Aysha of Mardan by 3-0, the score was 11-9, 11-7 and 11-8, Iqra of Peshawar beat Neelam of Mardan by 3-0, the score was 11-8, 11-9 and 11-8 and Nimran of Peshawar beat Haseena of Mardan by 3-0, the score was 11-9, 11-7 and 11-7.

In the position match, Swat defeated Bannu by 3-1 and got third position respectively. The players of Swat comprising Safina, Nadia and Pari defeated Hina, Haleema and Sana in straight sets.

In the first set Pari of Swat defeated Haleema of Bannu by 3-0, the score was 11-9, 11-8 and 11-7, Nadia beat Hina by 3-0, the score was 11-8, 11-7 and 11-9 and in the last singles Safina beat Sana by 3-1, the score was 10-13, 11-9, 11-8 and 11-7.

At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes to the position holders. He also lauded the efforts of the Directorate of Sports for organizing female events wherein teams from Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Kohat, Hazara, Mardan, Swat and host Peshawar took part.
